I realized that I was totally lame this week and did not take a single picture! So I will just briefly recap my week and call it good. This week has felt super busy, mostly because I've started to think about and look into housing for next year. They had a housing fair in the Wilk, and though it was helpful, the amount of off-campus apartments and condos is overwhelming and I'm kind of stressed out by this looming decision. I'm planning on living with Amelia and our closest friend, Meredith, but we need to do a lot more research before coming to a decision about where to live. If anyone has advice for me about what to look for in finding a place, I would really appreciate it!
Also, this week has been strange because I was asked out on dates by 5 different guys. Yes, all in one week! I had to turn two of them down, because three of them wanted to go out with me on Friday night and I had already said yes to the first one. So on Tuesday night, I had a swing dancing date with a guy from my Spanish class, on Friday night I had a bowling date with a guy in my ward, and on Saturday night I had an art museum/ice cream/Mario Kart/movie date with a different guy in my Spanish class. They were all very fun :)
Other than that, I've just been busy with my homework, housing hunts, and hanging out with friends! I hope you have all had a great week, and sorry for the briefness and boringness of this post! I love you all! ♥
5 guys?! I guess I may have to start calling you "playa" ;) hee hee jk, I'm glad to hear the guys are finally coming out of their shells and getting the guts to ask you out. I'll email you more detail about housing, but I advise to look at prices, location (how long is the walk to campus? Or buses?), what's the parking like? and the biggest factor for me was the roommate situation: who would you like to live with? Is it possible to get a place with x number of vacancies? (some places are much harder to get into than others, and some places offer deals for signing-up).
ReplyDeleteGo Amy!!!
ReplyDeleteThe songs that come to mind are "Boys, Boys, Boys" by Lady Gaga and "It's Rainin' Men," like I already mentioned to you. I love that you had to turn TWO guys down since you had already said "yes" to a third for that evening. Way to go, Amy!
ReplyDeleteFiguring out the housing situation is tough. Laura had some really good advice. Because you have a car, I wouldn't worry too much about living near a grocery store. But living near campus or near a bus stop that goes to campus will make your life much easier, considering that you will be on campus 6 days of the week (and maybe every day). Check out laundry facilities, too--is there laundry in the apartments? On site? Or would you have to drive your laundry to a laundromat somewhere on a Saturday and sit there as your clothes get washed? Overall, I would say don't worry about it too much, though. You'll end up with a fine place, and if you make a mistake and choose a place that isn't ideal, you'll learn from it and pick a different living arrangement the following year. Good luck, and let me know if you want to talk through different options.
